Parent Dogs

The care of our parent dogs -who are true members of our family- is paramount.

Our dogs sleep on their own beds, in our home. They have two acres of fenced farmyard to roam in freely. 

We honor our parents with carefully planned and selected litters.

We commit to only breed our mama dogs for a predetermined time to ensure health and happiness of mom and puppies. ​We evaluate after every litter whether to continue with another litter for each mom. 

We take seriously the responsibility of lifelong care of each parent dog and strive to give them the best possible, fulfilled, life.​

Health testing: Full health testing is posted in a highlight on our Instagram (@sugartopminis). Puppies will be sent home with copies of all parent testing, and you may request a full set of health testing proofs at any time.

What does it mean for a parent dog to be a "carrier"? 

​

Responsible breeders test their parent dogs to make sure they are not breeding two dogs with overlapping negative genetic traits. For pet homes, being a carrier does not matter, as it is not an active gene unless there is one from each parent. We ensure none of our parent dogs have overlapping negative traits to pass on, which validates our excellent health guarantee.
